SSC CGL photo and signature rules
- The photo is taken live on the SSC form: plain background, good light, camera at eye level and your full face inside the on-screen frame.
- No cap, mask or glasses in the live photo. Taking a picture of an old photo leads to rejection.
- Signature: JPG, 10–20 KB, in a 6.0 × 2.0 cm shape. Blurred or very small signatures are rejected.
- One-time registration (OTR) is done once on ssc.gov.in. An old OTR from ssc.nic.in is not valid.
SSC CGL photo and signature: common questions
Do I need to upload a photo for SSC CGL?
No. The photo is captured live by the application module on ssc.gov.in or the mySSC app, so you do not upload a photo file. Only the signature is uploaded.
What is the signature size for SSC CGL?
A JPG signature of 10–20 KB. FileNimbo makes it 300 × 100 pixels (6.0 × 2.0 cm shape).
Why does the SSC CGL form reject my photo or signature?
Most rejections are a file outside the KB range, the wrong pixel size, a blurred or dark picture, or the wrong format. Files made here are JPG and inside the limits shown; also follow the content rules listed above.
Is my photo uploaded to FileNimbo?
No. The picture is processed inside your own browser. FileNimbo never receives it, and nothing is stored.
