How to use signature resizer

A signature should retain its proportions, not fill every corner of a box. This workflow contains the complete source inside a white canvas with small margins, then exports JPEG. The default is 300 × 120 pixels; width and height can be changed for the receiving form. Crop unused paper first when the signature is small within a large scan.

  1. Scan or photograph the signature clearly on plain paper; crop unnecessary borders separately if needed.
  2. Select the supported image and set the required canvas width and height.
  3. Process the contain-fit JPG without stretching the source strokes.
  4. Inspect the strokes and white margins, then verify the resulting pixel dimensions and bytes.

A practical example

A wide 900 × 240 signature placed in a 300 × 120 canvas is scaled proportionally and centred. The spare white area stays as margins rather than stretching the writing vertically to fill the full box.

Supported files and limitations

  • The default canvas is 300 × 120 pixels; custom output dimensions are supported up to 5,000 pixels per side.
  • The tool does not remove shadows, clean a textured background or reconstruct faint/missing pen strokes.
  • Output is JPEG on white and has no guaranteed KB target. The receiving form’s actual rules remain decisive.

Troubleshooting

Why does the signature look tiny inside the result?

The entire source is fitted inside the canvas. Crop unused paper around the handwriting first, then resize the tighter source.

Why are there white bars above or beside the writing?

Those margins preserve proportions when the source and canvas have different shapes. Stretching to remove them could distort the signature.

Questions about signature resizer

Will this stretch my signature to fill the box?

No. It uses contain-fit, preserving the source proportions and centring the result on white.

Is 300 × 120 the required size for every form?

No. It is a starting default. Enter the dimensions stated by the form you are completing.

Can I also set a maximum file size?

This page sets canvas dimensions. Check bytes afterward and use a suitable KB target only if its output pixels and readability remain acceptable.

Can I make a faint signature darker automatically?

No automatic enhancement or background cleanup is provided. A clearer scan or photograph is the better starting point.
